Umbrella: Winter City Sounds just announced their program of over 300 live music events across more than 100 different venues and locations throughout Adelaide from Friday, July 14 to Monday, July 30.
One of the main highlights includes Aqua beats at Victoria Square based around the water feature.
Aqua Beats is a family friendly event held in Victoria Square. For those raising young children, the raucous pub music scene may be a distant memory. Aqua Beats gives weary nurturers an opportunity to partake in live entertainment beyond Peppa Pig and The Wiggles.
Aqua Beats is a concert based around the water feature at the top of Victoria Square in the heart of Adelaide. The fountain uses lighting to change colours throughout the performances.
The program for Aqua Beats aims to showcase a variety of styles that fall into the contemporary genre of music and showcase bands that are in different stages of their careers in the hopes of bringing their music to a wider audience.
Aqua Beats is free to the public and is an alcohol-free event. There is quite a culture of excessive drinking around live music and it is hoped that through Aqua Beats it can be shown that music can be enjoyed without excessive drinking.
Emma Knights Productions is an advocate for local talent and as such has made this event free and family friendly! Go and listen to several hours of local live music for nothing! We have such an amazing and diverse live scene here in Adelaide, don’t be one of the people that are not even aware it exists!
Aqua Beats is part of Splash Adelaide and has been curated as part of Music SA’s Umbrella Winter City Sounds Festival – a great new festival to give us reasons to enjoy our winter! There will be a selection of food trucks, hot drinks and some activities you can join in too. So pop on some warm clothes, a rain jacket and grab your umbrella and head to Victoria Square!
