Autumn Holidays in Adelaide! Find all the Best Activities & Ideas for the April School Holidays.
Below you will find a list of venues and links to their websites so you can simply click through to check out the activities on offer. Most programs are open to school age children 5 years and older but there are some specifically for younger kids. Remember to book in early if your child is interested in participating as classes fill quickly.

Animal Farm Goolwa
At the Animal Farm Goolwa, from 10am to 4pm every day throughout the school holidays, you can feed the goats, lambs, chooks, emus and lots of other animals. Children can interact with small animals in the barn and meet the rescue joeys, look in on the pigs, have a chat with our cocky and galahs, feed the donkeys or sheep in their paddocks. Take a free trailer ride too! The ever popular pony rides will also be available every day, subject to the weather, (be sure to book on arrival). Why not enjoy a coffee and snack in the café too at Animal Farm Goolwa, located next to Goolwa Airport on Airport Road.
Admission is just $8 per child and $10 per adult. Pony rides $5.

Gorge Wildlife Park
A Place where people and animals get together! Bring the kids these school holidays to get up close and personal with their wildlife.
See all your favourite Australian and exotic animals, birds and reptiles. Walk amongst and feed the Kangaroos and Wallabies, see Dingoes, Wombats, Meerkats, Otters, monkeys and more! They have lots of birds to see with walk through aviaries and free flying birds too. Their reptile house displays will keep the kids looking for more with snakes, lizards, frogs and baby crocodiles.
For those who like the cute and cuddly, have a pat or cuddle with one of their koalas with free sessions daily at 11.30am, 1.30 and 3.30pm. Or for those who are a bit more adventurous get up close with a snake at 1pm daily during the school holidays.

Hahndorf Farm Barn
Looking for some fun activities to enjoy with the kids in the beautiful Adelaide Hills these school holidays? The Hahndorf Farm Barn is a unique blend of a children’s farmyard and wildlife park. You can hold, touch and feed most of their animals in complete safety and at your own comfort level. They pride themselves on providing the best school holiday activities in Adelaide! There are many activities for kids at the farm – try your hand at milking a cow, take a pony ride, bottle feed baby lambs and hand feed the camels and donkeys to name a few. You can easily spend hours here enjoying quality time with your family. Play in their brand new playground and sand pit.

Paddock to Plate & Train Ride Experience – Autumn Farmyard Fun!
Throw on a jumper, breathe the fresh air and let’s go ‘check on the cows’…
Make butter, collect the eggs, grind wheat, and learn to crack a whip. Discover about the food chain and find out why poo is an important part of a healthy farm. Walk the paddocks and learn how Mother Nature prepares itself for winter. The children will be learning about farms and farm animals without even knowing it; they will think it is all fun!
Have a train ride, play on the hands-on railway displays and have a go at the outdoor old fashioned games. Then feed the friendly farm animals, blow cow horns, walk the open paddocks and then warm up in the undercover picnic area with yummy homemade pancakes.
This is a full morning/afternoon organised program. If this does not suit you, you can still visit Platform 1 any day at your leisure during the holidays.
Adelaide Zoo & Monarto Zoo
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Zooperheroes! Are you ready to join a wild superhero adventure?
Join the super teams at Adelaide and Monarto Zoo on a quest to save wildlife! Bring your little heroes along for an adventure and explore all the ways our zoos help save animals from extinction and learn how to be a superhero for nature.
Visit Adelaide and Monarto Zoos these school holidays in your superhero outfit and discover some real-life superheroes around the zoo! Children will receive their very own superhero mask and learn how to become an everyday conservation superhero.
From Captain Aqua, who never wastes water and is always conscious of the use of electricity, to Detective Fauna, Professor Stink, and Dr Defender, who protects animals from poachers, the conservation Superheroes will show you what it takes to be a wildlife hero yourself when you visit Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Zoo!
There’s even more packed in to both Adelaide and Monarto Zoo’s fun-filled schedules over the school break to keep little and big people alike busy, with special Super Animals Show where you will see their very own and super cute ‘super-animals’ up close, free Meet the Keeper presentations and some great prizes up for grabs.
