There are venues all over Adelaide that offer vacation care programs, workshops, clinics, classes and activities to keep the kids busy.
Below you will find a list of venues and links to their websites so you can simply click through to check out the activities on offer. Most programs are open to school age children 5 years and older but there are some specifically for younger kids. Remember to book in early if your child is interested in participating as classes fill quickly.

Australian Sports Camps
Australian Sports Camps have run camps for over 33 years and provide excellent sports coaching for boys and girls of all standards. ASC programs are skills-based, interactive and fun, to ensure that participants improve their game and enjoyment of their sport.

Due to popular demand, parkour is back these April holidays! Cirkidz trainers are pumped to help you perfect your street style and introduce some new ways to move around the space. Experienced participants and beginners are all welcome so you can go and learn the basics if you are new to the practice, but also have the opportunity to advance your training if you’ve already got some mad skills! The City of Charles Sturt – FREE School Holiday Sports Program
The City of Charles Sturt is inviting all children aged 3 – 17 years to try a new sport and get involved in their FREE School Holiday Sports Program. The program will be held from Tuesday 18 to Friday 28 of April 2017. Registrations close Monday 16th of April 2017 so be sure to book in early as there are limited numbers for each activity. Choose from over 20 different sports including football, athletics, bicycle racing, croquet, dancing and much more.
The City of Charles Sturt Program aims to provide an avenue for young people to:

Hockey SA is pleased to offer School Holiday Clinics for boys and girls aged 6-18 these School Holidays on April 26-27. Beginners through to experienced players are welcome with children grouped by age/skill level and each field player session tailored to be a fun and interactive participation clinic for all involved.

ICA Sportzworx Stepney
ICA Sportzworx Stepney’s school holiday clinics are available for all junior and primary school children. School Holiday clinics are held from 9.30am to 3.30pm every holidays. Kids also have the option to attend a half day session from 9.30am to 12.30pm or 12.30pm to 3.30pm. Please check the website for dates.
ICA Stepney provide coaching and fun games for the kids to take part in, focusing on sports such as cricket, soccer, netball, dodgeball, t-ball and other fun games. The kids are fully supervised at all times and are within a safe, indoor environment so they can have some active fun no matter what the weather is like. School holidays just got a whole lot more interesting with Adelaide’s newest indoor activity park – Pumpt at 221 Marion Road, Richmond.
Pumpt’s Indoor BMX, MTB, Skate & Scooter Park will keep the kids entertained, challenged and totally exhausted with an hour workout on the Pumpt tracks, tabletop and skate ramps. At the Animal Farm Goolwa, from 10am to 4pm every day throughout the school holidays, you can feed the goats, lambs, chooks, emus and lots of other animals. Children can interact with small animals in the barn and meet the rescue joeys, look in on the pigs, have a chat with our cocky and galahs, feed the donkeys or sheep in their paddocks. Take a free trailer ride too! The ever popular pony rides will also be available every day, subject to the weather, (be sure to book on arrival). Revolting Girls and Rotting Boys
This one-hour activity will explore the lives of a few of the ‘revolting girls’ who passed through the Destitute Asylum in the mid-1800s and the ‘rotting boys’ who lived on the Hulk Fitzjames between 1880- 1891. Walk in, dress up, line up, and fess up to your crimes. Have fun working through the choices that you made and your eventual destination. The Game of Life
You are in Adelaide in the 1800s, where your luck is made by the roll of the dice. National Motor Museum
GooRoo Animation Claymation at the National Motor Museum. Have you ever wondered how animators bring blobs of plasticine to life? Through a fun, hands-on workshop at the National Motor Museum, your child can explore the creative world of claymation and from their fingertips, stories will unfold. For two days only, renowned local animation wizzes GooRoo Animation will be running claymation workshops at the National Motor Museum inspired by the new exhibition, Bush Mechanics. Children will be able to make their own animation starting with little more than a few balls of plasticine. They will learn how to sculpt their own characters, record and edit their creations, and will take home their very own stop-motion animation.
The new exhibition, Bush Mechanics, at the National Motor Museum is set in Central Australia, where local Aboriginal community members keep their cars running using old spares or whatever can be found in the bush and a whole lot of ingenuity. This fun, interactive exhibition will be open from 12 April to 7 July, before embarking on a national tour.

Take the explorers trail and discover if you have what it takes to join Matthew Flinders’ or Nicolas Baudin’s voyages in 1801. Select a scientific specimen to paint and take home; you will need to identify the specimen and include the scientific name. Younger explorers can create their artwork and make a badge.

We’re Going on a Bear Hunt

We’re Going On A Bear Hunt is coming to the Adelaide Festival Centre just in time for the April School Holidays. Live on stage in the Adelaide Festival Centre’s Dunstan Playhouse from 27 to 29 April, this UK production will be presented for the first time in Adelaide, direct from a smash-hit international tour and sold out seasons in Brisbane, Melbourne and at the Sydney Opera House. The show features music, laughter, songs, rhythms, rhymes and repetitions, puppetry, paints, water and mud and A BEAR! But – we’re not scared!
Sally Cookson’s hugely inventive production set to Benji Bower’s quirky musical score is a mischievous celebration of play, utilising everyday objects and materials, to capture the imagination and catapult young audiences into the world of Michael Rosen and illustrator Helen Oxenbury‘s much loved picture book. Join the show’s intrepid family of adventurers and their musical dog through the swishy swashy grass, the splishy splashy river and the squelchy mud, in search of a bear.
