The Song

A $2 registration fee per participant will be donated to Eye Play Sport. To download the song sheet visit the City of Prospect website here.

Tutorial
A video tutorial to learn the song is now available on YouTube here. James Evan Jones (one half of the composing team of The Pushbike Song) takes you through the steps of how to play the four chords required, and then goes through the whole song.

Introducing the Tourrific Peter Combe

One of Australia’s most loved children’s songwriters, Peter Combe, has been announced as the Official Tourrific Prospect Guinness World Record – Largest Ukulele Ensemble Challenge Ambassador.

For decades Peter Combe has captured the imagination of both young and old with his funny and irresistibly catchy songs for children, families and big kids.

As the Official Ambassador, Peter will promote the City of Prospect’s Guinness World Record attempt for Largest Ukulele Ensemble to local and national audiences. The momentous challenge will take place on Monday 18 January at Prospect Oval as part of the Tourrific Prospect street party.

With three generations of loyal fans and over a million album sales to date, Peter Combe was the obvious choice to lead a 5,000 strong ukulele-wielding ensemble with City of Prospect Mayor David O’Loughlin.

“When I first heard about the Challenge, I thought it was a wonderful way to bring people together to experience this once in a lifetime, joyful event. I’m delighted to be the Official Ambassador and encourage everyone to wash their face in orange juice, pick up a ukulele and register to play along with me,” says Peter.

Mayor David O’Loughlin said of the newest addition to the Tourrific team, ”Who better than the legendary Peter Combe to help strum us into the record books? The Ukulele Challenge is certain to be a night that will be remembered for years to come. We’ve had a whole host of wonderful and wacky teams register, ranging from the Australian Navy to a team of SLUG’s (Semaphore Largs Ukulele Group). We even have groups travelling from over 400kms from the south east and Victoria to be part of the action. Everyone is invited to get involved in this very special night.”

The fabulous Marilyn Jetty Swim Group, a glamorous group of Marilyn Monroe impersonators who raise money for the Cancer Council, will be supporting Mayor O’Loughlin and Peter Combe to ensure a thrilling evening is enjoyed by all!
