Did you know that both Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Zoo are open right over the Easter Weekend?
The new Nature’s Playground has only been open for a few short months, but already is a major draw to Adelaide Zoo and with a four day weekend coming up, it’s a great time to head to the Zoo and explore if you haven’t tried it out for yourself yet.
And with Monarto Zoo less than an hour up the freeway, the cooler temperatures make a visit to Monarto a very special family day out! Maybe you’ll catch a glimpse of baby rhino Tundu, born in September 2015.
The new Nature’s Playground is proving to be a very popular attraction at the Zoo, drawing in lots of visitors and really enhancing what was already a fabulous day out. We were lucky enough to test out the playground when it opened and loved every minute. Entry to the playground is included in your entry to the Zoo.

It’s a great day out!
The Zoo is one of South Australia’s major tourist attractions and a must visit destination for families with children of all ages. Situated within a 15 minute walk of the City of Adelaide, the Zoo is located alongside the beautiful Botanic Park and gardens. Young children take absolute delight in visiting the zoo, their excitement when looking at and listening to animals they don’t see every day is priceless. Older children are able to look and learn, ask questions and participate in educational programs run throughout the year. Adelaide Zoo’s focus is on endangered and rare animals from continents such as South America, India, Africa and Australia (also South East Asia). With such an important educational facility on our doorstep, a day at the zoo is a wonderful experience no family should miss.

Monarto Zoo is a 1,500 hectare open range sanctuary (one of the largest open range zoos in the world) with internationally renowned breeding programs for rare and endangered species. At the zoo, you can travel on the Zu-loop shuttle bus service or via the walking tracks, to experience Monarto at your own leisure. The Zu-loop transports you to the various wildlife viewing platforms where you can disembark at each bus stop to view the wildlife and meet with one of their informative guides or zoo keepers.
Entry to Monarto Zoo is included in Zoo membership – it’s well worth the trip up the Freeway for this wonderful experience.
