The SATC is delighted to announce that the Socceroos will play Tajikistan at Adelaide Oval in a crucial 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying game on Thursday 24 March, 2016.
This is one of the most important games in the Socceroos International calendar and Adelaide will be playing host.
This game – much like the world first international day-night test series played recently at Adelaide Oval – will draw global attention and will be broadcast to a large national audience on Fox Sports and SBS, as well asย across Asia and the world, to millions of football fans eager to see if the Asian Champions can maintain their position on top of their qualifying group.
The Socceroos will participate in a training camp in Adelaide during the week leading up to the game giving fans even more opportunity to see their idols in action around this great city.
Rodney Harrex, Chief Executive of South Australian Tourism Commission said, โFans will no doubt use the opportunity to spend some time in the CBD enjoying the vibrant city atmosphere created by the myriad of small bars and restaurants and enjoy the outstanding food and wine that our city and State are renowned for.”

This news comes on the back of an already exciting news packed month, where South Australia has secured the ISPS Handa Australian Womenโs Open Golf and the 2017 Pacific School Games adding to our already jam-packed schedule that includes the Santos Tour Down Under, Adelaide Festival, Adelaide Fringe, WOMADelaide, Clipsal 500 Adelaide and many, many more.
