On International Guide Dog Day, Wednesday 26 April 2017, clients, volunteers, staff and supporters will stop traffic in the Adelaide CBD to celebrate the amazing work of Guide Dogs, Autism Assistance Dogs and Pets as Therapy Dogs in the community.
Led by the SA Police Band and Patron the Governor His Excellency the Hon. Hieu Van Le and the Minister for Disabilities Leesa Vlahos, the parade will start from Guide Dogs SA offices at 251 Morphett Street and wind its way along Franklin Street and King William Street to Government House. Wave, cheer as we pass by celebrating Taking the Lead for 60 years. Parade heads off at 9.30 am.
A ceremony for Guide Dogs SA clients and supporters will recognise the breadth of the Guide Dog Service with graduating Guide Dog, Autism Assistance Dog, Pets as Therapy, Brood Mothers and Stud Dogs and also retiring loyal dogs.
Awards will also be given to local businesses who have gone above and beyond in providing access to people with Guide Dogs and Autism Assistance Dogs and our trainees.
