Launch of the Story City App | City of Adelaide | 17 Oct 2015

Story City: Adelaide: The World is Full of Adventures – Choose Yours.

New Australian mobile app brings adventure to the streets of Adelaide.

On Saturday 17th October 2015, the innovative storytelling app, Story City, will be launching in South Australia, bringing real-life choose-your-own-adventure style stories to the streets of Adelaide.

The Australian-designed app is a completely new way of telling a story; it drops the reader directly into the adventure by using real city locations as the canvas for the digital storytelling experience. Via their mobile phone or tablet, readers will find themselves swept into a story where they are in control. As readers make the decisions that will effect how the story ends, they also travel a unique path through the city of Adelaide.

Story City: Adelaide will allow readers to become entangled in an outrageous game of Alien Hide-and-Seek across the CBD, or have them pitched into a time-travelling romp through 40,000 years of Adelaide’s history.

Story City is the popular Choose-Your-Own-Adventure genre, reimagined for a digital age.

The app is FREE to download on the Apple and Android app stores and is completely FREE to use, making it fun and accessible for all ages – all you need is a smart phone and a taste for adventure.

Story City fundamentally believes that local stories matter. The two stories that will be launching in Adelaide are the result of the collaboration and creativity of 8 local artists, writers and musicians. By fostering local stories and local artists, Story City aims to nurture vibrant communities that are proud of, and engaged with, their public spaces.

With the streets and landmarks of Adelaide playing a starring role in all Story City adventures, the app allows tourists and locals to explore or rediscover the city in a fun, unique and exciting way.
