Be inspired this National Tree Day – it’s in our nature
Planet Ark celebrated 21 years of National Tree Day and Schools Tree Day – Australia’s largest community tree-planting and nature care event.
Proudly sponsored by Toyota Australia, National Tree Day is an opportunity to do something positive for your local environment and community and to reconnect with nature. National Tree Day started in 1996 and since then more than 3.8 million people have planted 23 million trees and plants and it’s still growing.
There’s lots of ways for you to be involved in greening your community and making a difference to your local environment. Check out the hundreds of community planting events taking place around Australia. Enter your postcode on the Planet Ark website here to see what’s happening in your neighbourhood. Each Tree Day event will have its own page with more details. Whether planting at a local park, garden, reserve, bushland or foreshore area, there’s lots of ways for you to do your part.
The kids can green up their act by taking part in fun, FREE Bunnings D.I.Y. nature-craft workshops held on the weekend of National Tree Day, on Saturday July 29th and Sunday July 30th, at stores across the country. To find your nearest Bunnings store visit the Bunnings website here.
