Pick your own strawberries at Mount Compass in the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Harvest the Fleurieu offers delicious sweet juicy strawberries in their ‘pick your own’ between late September and late May (depending on the weather). The patch is open from 9am until 4pm 7 days per week. Cost is $10 for a 1Kg punnet plus $3.50 per head. Children under 10 are FREE. There is no time limit to how long you spend in the patch and they encourage you to definitely try before you buy. The ladies in the strawberry van can let you know where some of the best fruit is located. NO OTHER CONTAINERS ALLOWED IN THE PATCH.
Play & Go friend Rachel and her family visited on Sunday 22 November 2015, and have reported there are plenty of delicious strawberries currently there for picking. See them in the strawberry patch above and look at the beautiful fruit they picked here:
Their delicious strawberry ice-cream is also very popular. Freshly made with their freshly picked strawberries and using Fleurieu Peninsula cream and full cream milk it is truly not to be missed. No trip home from Victor is complete without a quick freshen up stop at Harvest the Fleurieu for a delicious ice-cream. They also have a mixed berry ice-cream made with their own mix of blueberries and blackberries. There is also sugar free strawberry sorbet. So refreshing and sweet, just from the strawberries!
While strawberries are the main fruit, various times of the season they also may have blueberries, blackberries, rhubarb, garlic, snowpeas, green beans and limes. There are also plans for a new cafe and market hall. See their website and Facebook page for updates on new developments (links below).
They also offer school holiday specials for groups from out of hours school care or vacation care centres. See their website here for info about this.
