Squelch Mud Run 2017
More mud, more challenge and more muddy memories!
In 2016 the mud run was specially made just for the littlest people! In 2017 they are are partnering with DreamBIG Children’s Festival (formerly Come Out) to bring Adelaide Squelch 2.0. The obstacles will be more epic, there will be more mud, more challenges and more muddy memories! If you missed out last time, this is your chance to experience over 14 challenging but kid sized obstacles. If you’ve been before, go and try it again and see what’s new.
Tickets on sale 1 March 2017 from 9am – click here to book
Be quick – they sold out in half an hour last year! Tickets cost $7.23 per child – parents/carers are free.
Squelch Mud Run 2017 is a mud run and adventure challenge reconnecting children to the outdoors
Children will jump, climb, crawl, swing, slide, balance, dodge and squelch through the mud, whilst making life long memories. They will get up close with nature and be empowered to take calculated risks, working in teams to complete muddy challenges.
A sensory area with mini mud activities, loose parts play, fairy soup and bubbles will keep more reluctant or younger children engaged. Parents can attend for free, you only need tickets for your children (1 ticket per child).
The sessions are 1 hour, which is enough time for your kids to complete the obstacle course many times. You are welcome to hang out in the mini mud pit for as long as you want after your session too:)
There will be coffee and food trucks, so make a day of it and bring your friends!
Saturday Session Times
10am, 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm, 4pm
Sunday Session Times
10am, 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm
Tips on enjoying Squelch
Note: Children will get muddy at Squelch – but this is half the fun! There will be warm water for clean up, but the organisers recommend children wear waterproof clothing and bring a towel and a change of clothes.
Can children older than 6 attend?
Siblings who are no older than 8 are allowed to participate in the sessions. Please ensure that they are respectful of younger participants and understand that the obstacles may not challenge them at this age.
Outdoor Playgroup Adelaide caters specifically for children under 6. There are many other great events for older children, but this one is aimed at the littlest ones!
Can children younger than 2 attend?
They will not be asking for birth certificates on the day! If your child is almost 2 and confident walker, climber they can participate with your full attention and help. Children under 2 are able to use the mini mud pit and sensory play area (free with a paying sibling or $6)
Will I (the parent) get muddy?
Depending on the ability of your child, you might stay clean or might end up as dirty as the kids! Parents will need to follow and supervise their child on the course as it is over a large distance obscured by trees. While older children may be confident and able to do all obstacles by themselves, parents of younger or less confident children might need to get in there and help!
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Parking is limited (South Tce, Hutt Rd or Beaumont Rd ), might be best to use public transport!
What can/can’t I bring to the event?
- Definitely bring a change of clothes and a towel for little muddy people
- Camera to capture the memories
- Any food/drinks you would like (there will be food trucks and coffee available for purchase)
- No alcohol or dogs please
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No – save trees! Everyone will need to check in before their session, and we do this via the app!
Can I get a refund?
You can get a refund up to 48 hours before the event.
