The Freaky 13th Fat Tyre Festival 2015, supported by Schwalbe, is coming to Melrose on 5th-8th June 2015.
The Freaky 13th Fat Tyre Festival welcomes mountain bike riders of all ages and abilities to come and test out their skills on the frighteningly awesome trails around Melrose. The long weekend is a family-orientated event with a street parade, stalls, food, live music, entertainment, awesome giveaways and VIP party. With a dozen festivals under our belt – we know how you roll!
Activities for the kids include:
- Street Parade and Stalls
- Live Entertainment – Kids show under the tent (included in ticket)
- Craft activities, decorate your own cupcake ( AND EAT IT ) and face painting – $5 to enter all proceeds go to Melrose Primary School.
- Bike Skills Challenges
- Spooky movie night – TBA
- Haunted guided family night rides plus a Ghost trail! ( lights required )
- Picnic and family rides
- Costume and bike decoration competition – prizes by OPAL
- MTB Orienteering
- BMX Jump Display down at the Caravan Park
Riders can sign up for for bike demos, Mini D time trials, mountain bike orienteering, modular pump track challenge, night rides (if you dare), skills and bike maintenance courses and guided rides for all abilities.
Action Trax will be bringing Bikeparkitect’s world first ‘modular pump track’ to Melrose and the Fat Tyre Festival. Action Trax debuted these awesome pump tracks recently at the Tour Down Under to rave reviews and will be setup front and centre in the Main Street of Melrose with a number of pump track challenges in mind like timed laps, dual slalom and head to head (first to complete 3 laps) challenges.
Freakishly amazing trails, great entertainment and plenty of healthy action – it is going to be an awesome long-weekend of singletrack!
