The 52 Storey Treehouse.
Leave your logic at the door because you certainly won’t need it for this show! The 52 Storey Treehouse written by authors Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton and adapted for stage by Richard Tulloch is full of fun, silly characters and plain nonsense, which is why it is so appealing for children (and adults)!
Terry and Andy, our two madcap writers, who do no writing at all, find themselves yet again with a looming book deadline and a mystery to solve. With the assistance of their disguise-o-matic 5000 machine, a giant, very hungry caterpillar, their fried-egg mobile (I don’t want to poach puns from the show) and Ninja snails, Andy and Terry, with the help of Jill have to contend with missing Mr Big-Nose and some angry vegetables.
The play, like the book, is plain silly, in the best way possible – slapstick, puns, silly imaginings, amusing characters and nonsensical humour keep the audience engaged and giggling throughout the one hour show.
The actors were able to convey the innocence, creativity and silliness of the characters found in the Treehouse series with lots of energy and fun. The play was well choreographed, featured lots of action and a vast mix of sound effects and lighting which helped heighten the sense of adventure.
This was a great show, with lots of humour and action that had the audience constantly engaged and giggling. It would be hard to leave this show without a smile on your face!
