Writers’ Week has a jam-packed program designed for young book readers. Young Readers’ Day (ages 2 – 12) is on Sunday 3 March 2024 and for kids over 12, Tuesday 5 March 2024 is YA Evening and Hear Me Roar! 

Young Readers’ Day | 3 March 2024 

Calling all fans of picture books, graphic novels and epic middle grade series. In 2024, the young readers event is swapping from Saturday to Sunday under a new name – Young Readers’ Day.

Go along for a packed program designed for the youngest of book lovers and featuring some of the most dazzling names in Australian children’s literature. Completing the line-up is Adelaide’s own Story Trove, the participatory performance group who invite youngsters to bring stories to life through play and performance.

YA Evening and Hear Me Roar! | 5 March 2024

In 2024, the Young Adult (YA) and spoken word events at Adelaide Writers’ Week will be held on a Tuesday night. Head to the West Stage from 6:15pm to enjoy free conversations with authors of young adult books and contemporary literature under the stars.

Hear Me Roar!, the slam poetry and spoken word event, will also be held on the Tuesday night and will feature some of the fiercest voices in contemporary poetry from all over the country.

The full YA Evening and Hear Me Roar! program will be available in early 2024
