NPSA-Park-of-month-Mar2015

Our beautiful South Australian parks provide countless opportunities for children and families to connect with nature and to experience the health and wellbeing benefits of playing, learning and being physically active through bushwalking, camping, picnicking, fishing, swimming, cycling, surfing and exploring.

Nature Play SA’s Park of the Month will showcase a different park each month and encourage children and families to experience a range of landscapes, flora and fauna while taking part in fun nature based activities.

In March, come and discover one of Australia’s most amazing geological and archaeological sites at Hallett Cove Conservation Park!

The park contains evidence of the Australian ice age from over 280 million years ago and provides an archeological treasure chest including more than 1,700 Aboriginal artefacts!Β  Discover the magnificent glacial pavements along the northern cliff tops, which are recognised as the best record of Permian glaciation in Australia and are of international significance.

Explore the Glacier Hike, a great walk to do with kids, where you can discover β€˜the Sugarloaf’ and other amazing geological formations.

The park is also full of native flora and fauna and has a beach which is great for swimming, beachcombing, kayaking and fishing!
