AFF is one of the first film festivals to return to cinemas this year, showcasing 22 world premieres, 27 Australian premieres and a total of 54 feature films from more than 40 countries.

This event offers a diverse array of cinematic delights alongside inspiring talks and COVID-safe galas and events. Long heralded for its commitment to Australian talent, AFF will host the world premieres of a wealth of local talent including three feature films, four feature documentaries, a six-part web-series and a collection of short films.

AFF ends with Closing Night Gala Minari, the sweet and heart-warming winner of both the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at Sundance. This film is family-friendly. 


The films will be shown at a range of venues across South Australia. Check the program to see where each film is showing.

    in your Adelaide Film Festival (AFF) article you recommend clicking on your link to the AFF program, then select the Genre “Family”.

    The AFF website is not overly user-friendly with navigating your way back and forth to check film ratings. (I’d picked up their paper program today from the library but found it hard – at a quick glance – to pinpoint any movies suitable for children.)

    Seeing the activities and events you promote, your target audience seems to be primarily u/15yo. It would be helpful in your article if you mention that only one of the 7 “Family genre” films is suitable for under 15yos, this one: “”

    I find your website and emailed newsletters incredibly helpful in planning and mapping ‘life’ with kids – so thank you for the wealth of knowledge you share with parents 🙂
    (I refuse to delete them until i’ve skimmed them over, unlike all the other emails i receive, yours are ALWAYS useful)
