Summer is around the corner and Moonlight Cinema is back for the ultimate summer experience under the stars.

The December/January program is jam-packed with acclaimed summer blockbusters, cosy Christmas flicks, fan favourites, fierce female leads and an array of hotly anticipated family-friendly films.  Recline on a plush bean bed under the stars or unfurl a picnic blanket and unwind amidst the lively festival atmosphere.

2019/20 PROGRAM

The huge program includes screenings of top picks for Awards season; Joker, Ford v Ferrari, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood and Bombshell, Christmas flicks; Last Christmas, Love Actually, Elf, Fan favourites; Dirty Dancing, A Star Is Born, The Matrix, Bring It On, Family-friendly films; Frozen 2, Jumanji: The Next Level, The Addams Family and fierce female led comedies; Charlie’s Angels and Hustlers.

MUST-SEE FILMS OF THE SUMMER

From action-packed blockbusters, to phenomenal period dramas, captivating biopics and critically acclaimed award contenders – Moonlight returns with a plethora of must-see summer films. Witness Joaquin Phoenix’s universally acclaimed portrayal of the iconic Batman villain in chilling blockbuster Joker; and solve a dramatic murder mystery along with an all-star cast in the new who-dunnit, Knives Out, starring Daniel Craig, Chris Evans and Aussie favourites Toni Collette and Katherine Langford.

Films based on fascinating true stories include: Ford v Ferrari, starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale, chronicles the legendary story of an American car designer’s mission to build a revolutionary race car for Ford; and Bombshell, starring Margot Robbie, Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron, which explores the explosive true story of the women who brought down Fox News head Roger Ailes and the toxic environment he presided over at the network.

Savour the silly season with Moonlight’s sensational selection of Christmas flicks: from quirky romcom Last Christmas, starring Emilia Clarke as a disillusioned department store worker who unwittingly falls head over heels for the unlikeliest of suitors; to quintessential Christmas classic Home Alone; and Bruce Willis’ festive 80s action blockbuster Die Hard.

Moonlight’s fan favourite program will also screen two of the biggest Christmas blockbusters ever, Love Actually and Elf.

Pick up a Moonlight Family Pass for just $50* for any of their adorable Family Pass selected films. Let the kids run around and drain out their energy, then pull up a blanket, settle in together and be the first to watch some of the most fun films of the summer.

*Each Family Pass is valid for 2 x Adult & 2 x Child admissions OR 1 x Adult & 3 x Child admissions to the same movie session. Child admission is for ages 3 to 15 years inclusive. Family Pass valid for select G and PG classified films only.

LOCATION

Adelaide’s Moonlight Cinema is located at Botanic Park (adjacent to Adelaide Botanic Garden), Hackney Road, Adelaide. Enter the cinema via Plane Tree Drive.

Gates open at 7pm. Screenings start at sundown (approximately 8.45pm in December, 8.55pm in January and 8.40pm in February).

Make sure you arrive early to ensure a great spot on the lawn. Give yourself time to relax and enjoy a picnic or take advantage of the delicious onsite food before the film.  There is a licensed bar and catering at the venue providing a delicious range of snacks, light meals and hot and cold drinks. You are most welcome to BYO food and drinks.
