Australian Samba Retreat

A three-day samba retreat is set to take place in the Adelaide Hills on the 1 – 2 November 2019.

The event’s extensive line up includes dance and music workshops, accommodation, yoga and networking. Held at the Nunyara Conference Centre in Belair, the retreat brings some of Brazil’s most influential and renowned Samba professionals to South Australia.

Amongst the line up is some serious Carnaval royalty including international superstar ‘King of Samba’ – Carlinhos do Salgueiro; The ‘King of Malandro’ Mayombe Masai; Queen Egili Oliveira; Mestres (Masters) of Brazilian Afro, Irineu Nogueira and Aninha Malandro plus emerging talent, the crazy-talented Felipe Rodrigues and Lari Reis and Jamaican Tami Fogueira.

In addition to the three-day retreat, the event will be offering tickets to the public to be a part of the action on both Friday and Saturday night, with shows, bar and dancing from 8.30pm. Tickets to open events on Friday and Saturday nights are limited.

Contemporânea sponsored percussionist, the legendary Raphael Moreira is being flown all the way from São Paulo to lead a professional ensemble of musicians for this special event.
