Lighthouse Youth Projects Second-hand ‘Buy One Get One fFree’ Bike Sale & Sausage Sizzle Day.

Looking for a new to you bicycle? Lighthouse Youth Projects Inc are holding another bicycle sale at their location in Port Adelaide on Saturday 29 March 2025 where you can buy one secondhand bike and get one free with over 80 bikes of different styles available. Helmets will be available too.

Pick out any two bikes, and the second one (of equal or lower value) is absolutely free. No further discounts apply.

The secondhand bicycle sales usually happen on the first Saturday of every month between 9am-1pm at the Lighthouse Youth Projects Inc. HQ in Port Adelaide. different bikes to choose from and they are all rebuilt with care and turned with pride. Every dollar from the sales gets put straight back into Lighthouse Youth Project’s youth mentoring programs. They will also be holding a BBQ sausage sizzle.

About LYP

LYP use donated bikes or find bikes in hard rubbish and make every effort they can to make them usable again. Buying a secondhand bike from Lighthouse is not only ethical and sustainable but the proceeds raised go straight back into supporting the young people they work with.

All of the bikes that are for sale have been put together in their mentoring programme, with 100% of the sale proceeds going straight back into tools and programme development. This programme exists to help socially and economically disadvantaged young South Australians gain real work skills through bicycle maintenance and bicycle driven mentoring, delivered by qualified mentors.

Bike Donations:

If you’ve got a bike you’d like to donate, visit their website to fill in their donation form HERE before dropping it off. Otherwise, they generally accept bike donations on the last Friday of each month between 10am-12pm at their headquarters in Port Adelaide.

Donations will either be used in mentoring sessions to teach basic mechanic skills, as a bicycle for a participant to ride during a program, or will be repaired and sold at one of the Bike Sales with proceeds going to the mentoring programs.
