Discover the life at Hallett Cove – FREE family event

Join in the fun at this free family event and discover the life of Hallett Cove! There will be organised walks, talks and swims. You will be able to observe, record and learn about the local flora and fauna. Or you can just drop by, there will be wildlife on display and plenty to do.

What will happen at the BioBlitz?

Get your feet wet, snorkel, or to stay on dry land… it’s up to you! You might discover a leafy sea dragon, a morwong, an urchin, a kestrel, or a boobialla!

Friday Night – 4pm – 9.45pm: beach searches, nocturnal searches, and an astronomy session.

Saturday – 7.45am – 4pm: wildlife on display, flora and fauna searches, and geology sessions.

Like to participate?

There are a number of ways you can participate. You can just come along… we’ll have wildlife on display. Or register below to join a scheduled activity. Come for an hour or stay the day!

Look through the list of sessions on the booking form and register for the ones you would like to attend (making sure the sessions don’t overlap). On the day, please make sure you arrive at least 15-minutes before your first activity, to sign-in.

Getting there

Head to the BioBlitz Basecamp in the the Boatshed Café, 1A Heron Way, Hallett Cove (overlooking the beach).

As parking is limited at the Café, please consider carpooling, walking, riding, or catching the Seaford Train to the event. There is parking at the Hallett Cove Beach railway station, a 10-minute walk away.
