Blue Devil Snorkel | Second Valley Jetty | Dec 2019, Mar & Apr 2020

Blue Devil Snorkel, Second Valley Jetty

IMPORTANT UPDATE FRIDAY 13 MARCH 2020:

Following the Federal Government announcement banning public gatherings of 500 people or more in an effort to slow the spreading of COVID-19, some events may be cancelled or postponed – please check with the venue or organisers directly for clarification.

Professional snorkel leaders and marine biologists will help you explore the jetty and seagrass beds, home to the blue devil fish, allusive leafy and weedy sea-dragons and other colourful fish and plant life.

Join professional snorkel leaders and marine biologists for a guided snorkel in Encounter Marine Park at Second Valley Jetty.

EMS snorkel events are proudly supported by the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges NRM Board, Department of Human Services, Suzanne Elliot Charitable Trust and DEW Marine Parks.

Suitable for children 10 years and above whom are good swimmers. Children under 15 yrs must be supervised by a parent/adult at 2:1 ratio (2 children : 1 parent/adult) – at least one parent to accompany (in water) and supervise maximum of two children.

Intermediate experience snorkel tour is taken at (or close to) low tide when there is little water movement and best visibility. Depth is 4-6m. Trained snorkel guides lead the tours and are often accompanied by student or qualified marine biologists.

Please arrive at least 30 minutes before snorkel tour start time to fill out out registration form and be fitted with snorkel gear.

FAQs

Where do I meet to take part in tour?

EMS Snorkel leaders will have a marquee/registration table set up at end of carpark near jetty entrance  – look for the EMS marquee.

Is there an age limit to enter the event?

The event is open to children 10 years and above. All children 15 yrs and under must be accompanied in water by an adult/parent.

What can I bring to the event?

Bring your own wetsuit and snorkelling gear if you have it (if you don’t have your own snorkelling equipment they can provide free of charge). Bring water, snack, waterproof camera, sunscreen, sunsafe clothing and a sense of adventure – they supply the rest.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn’t match the attendee. Is that okay?
