Bridgestone Reserve, new reserve open in Salisbury South

Bridgestone Reserve in Salisbury South officially opened on 31 March 2017. Located on Frost Road, this is a significant new parkland, recreation and fitness playspace for everyone to enjoy.

The 6.8-hectare site located on Frost Road in Salisbury South was donated to the Salisbury community by Bridgestone following the cessation of their local manufacturing operations in 2010.  The project was officially opened on Friday 31 March by Mayor Gillian Aldridge and Bridgestone Australia and New Zealand Managing Director Andrew Moffatt who jointly unveiled a plaque commemorating the day.

“I’d like to acknowledge and thank Bridgestone for their generous donation to our community,” Mayor Aldridge said.

The new reserve features:
• Two spacious parkland areas
• Plenty of playground equipment including a flying fox
• A fitness loop
• Sheltered barbecues
• Sheltered picnic area
• Toilet facilities
• New car park and footpaths
• New lighting and landscaping

It’s a multi-million dollar development on the former tyre factory site. Bridgestone donated the land to the community in recognition of the community and council support over their 46 year history there.
