Brooklyn Drive Reserve Playground Hallett Cove
A new little community playground by City of Marion has opened February 2021.
The $111,750 upgrade features a giant wooden teepee climbing frame with net and slide, monkey bars, a cute play kitchen, two swings (including a baby swing) and balance logs.
There is a shaded picnic table plus a hand ball court beside it. A drinking fountain is provided.
There are no toilets or shade and it is not fenced, so it’s suited for a little play, but not for wandering ‘runner’ toddlers, as Brooklyn Drive is a short distance down a slight hill from the playground.
The hand ball court is a simple addition which older kids can enjoy with friends.
Older kids like this one below may use the monkey bars not quite as they are intended.
See the board to explain a ‘Capture the Flag’ game which involves the two wooden poles you’ll find on that grassy area, each with a different colour flag.
Just below the playground down a slight grassy hill there are some car parks on Brooklyn Drive, or there is street parking on Seaway Rd on the other side.
