Campbelltown Skate Park
The Campbelltown Skate Park on Darley Road in Paradise is a popular spot for playing on wheels. After trying out a few skate parks my five year old declares this one his favourite at the moment.
The Campbelltown City Council website rates it for intermediate users. It’s popular for scooters, skateboards and bikes.
It’s a short walk from the Paradise bus interchange. As you can see there is plenty of shade around the skating area in the form of shelters and shady trees. There is a bbq, toilets and grassy areas. There is also an informal bmx track amongst the trees.
A family with young kids at the skate park, who visit here regularly, commented that they have visited many around Adelaide and this is one of their favourites.
It’s hard to know when the best time of day to go is with younger kids, but we did find that the older skaters tended to turn up later in the afternoon. If you have younger kids still learning, it may be best to go earlier in the day when there aren’t so many older kids. However, my son does love to watch and learn from them too.
Just remember to wear safety gear – the concrete is hard!
Here’s a little video of my 5 year old in action there:
