Charlie’s Diner at Brighton Metro Hotel – Review
By Jo Parkinson
Do you have fussy eaters or are tired of trying to please everyone at mealtime? Then grab the family and go and check out Brighton Metro Hotel, because buffets are back and better than ever!
Charlie’s Diner at Brighton Metro Hotel is the perfect place to take the kids out for lunch or dinner, and they offer some great deals* during the week. On Mondays and Tuesdays, kids (ages 5-12) eat free with the purchase of an adult main meal. Or you can ‘Feed the Family’ on Wednesdays for $70, which includes two adults and two children (each additional child is $10 extra). If you have a child aged four years or under, they eat free every day.
ALL YOU CAN EAT
One of the benefits of dining at a buffet restaurant is that kids don’t have to sit around getting bored waiting for their meals, they can go right up and get their food straight away. Kids feel excited and independent as they choose what they would like to eat. Using tongs, they can serve themselves as much or as little as they like. However, children must always be supervised by an adult whilst at the buffet to assist with hygiene.
There is a large range of food on offer, including salads, Asian, international, soup, carvery, seafood, pizza, chips, nuggets and more! This provides a great opportunity for children to try foods they may not have had before and even the fussiest eaters are sure to find something they enjoy. As an added bonus, kids also get free drinks and refills at the bar.
KIDS PLAYROOM AND CINEMA ROOM
Once they’ve filled up on main course, kids may like to take a break and check out the playroom or cinema room. Here they will find video games, colouring books, train track, toys, and interactive play crocodile on the wall. The cinema room has multi-level stairs and cushions to sit on.
Adults can take this time to enjoy some peace and quiet, uninterrupted conversation and maybe a drink or two whilst they digest and get ready for the best part, dessert!
Editors note: The kids room at Charlie’s Diner received a renovation in January 2023 and the space now includes an indoor playground.
DESSERT
Make sure you leave enough room in your bellies for the delicious desserts! You can choose from hot sweets like chocolate and sticky date pudding, custard, and churros. If you prefer something cold there is chocolate mousse, slices, cheesecake, jelly, pastries, and fruit.
Most kids won’t be able to resist the ice-cream freezer, packed with popular flavours including lemon sorbet and served in a bowl or cone.
As well as Charlie’s Diner, Brighton Metro has a Sports Bar and Beer Garden. Its modern décor gives a pleasant feel, and even though it gets busy, tables are far enough apart that you don’t feel crammed in. Friendly staff are always on hand to clear empty plates so that your table doesn’t become cluttered.
Charlie’s Diner is a great option for dining out with family and friends and everyone is sure to leave full and happy!
