Food. FERMENT. Wine. CheeseFest+Ferment. Gather & Graze South Australia.
With the current COVID restrictions impacting large events, the organisers of CheeseFest have decided that rather than canceling their event all together, they will hold a scaled down version of the festival instead. Gather & Graze will showcase South Australia’s cheese and fermented foods, niche bars to enjoy wine, beer, gin and other fermented drinks and delicious produce.
They have been busy working out how they can deliver a safe, entertaining and most importantly fun festival for everyone. It is going to be different this year, but it is going to be special. More details will be released in the coming weeks.
They still have the most amazing selection of South Australian producers of food and beverages, stage presenters, plus live music and local artwork. Renowned Australian producers and chefs such as Emma McCaskill, Karena Armstrong, Rose Adam and Paul Baker will all be featured in live cooking demonstrations.
CheeseFest+FERMENT Founder and Director, Kris Lloyd, said this year’s festival is special and different.
We want to celebrate the food and beverage industries which are incredibly important to our State. It has been a turbulent time this year and we are all adjusting to our current circumstances. Our smaller event will give food and wine producers, chefs and cheesemakers the opportunity to showcase their businesses and share their knowledge and expertise as well as giving our festival patrons the chance to Gather & Graze in a safe environment.
Local producers announced so far include Udder Delights, Second Valley Dairy, Woodside Cheese Wrights, Brewed by Belinda, Red Cacao, Kangaroo Island Spirits, Coriole Vineyards, Scull Kombucha and My Grandma Ben with more to be revealed.
It has been announced that two much loved South Australians will form part of the live cooking demonstration stage programme. Maggie Beer and Simon Bryant will treat guests on separate days with their culinary expertise.
On Sunday 8 November Maggie Beer, AM, will headline the cooking demonstration stage from 1pm.
Simon Bryant, a long-time supporter of CheeseFest will also be joining this year’s Gather & Graze line up on Saturday 7 November all day cooking his delicious Mac & Cheese with a twist, and on stage at 5pm.
CheeseFest+Ferment will occur in four sessions across the two days on November, with a lunch and evening session scheduled for each day.
- 11am – 3pm – Lunch session $45
- 4pm – 9pm – Evening session $50
- 10am – 2pm – Brunch session $45
- 3pm – 7pm – Twilight session $45
