Brought to you by Pelican Productions, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is set to wow Adelaide for 12 shows only during the April school holidays, 19 to 26 April 2015.

Years before Harry Potter was flying around in his magical car, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was the original fine four fendered friend, flying high in front of audiences worldwide.

Written by Ian Fleming (author of the James Bond books), this infamous musical is undoubtedly a theatrical feast – bursting with dancing, singing, imagination, fun and frivolity.

With more than 120 of Adelaide’s most talented actors ranging from ages 8 to 25 years, this home grown spectacular is a musical that the whole family will love. Some of the cast members featured in the 2014 Adelaide production that toured Australia, with Finnegan Green reprising the lead role of Jeremy Potts in Pelican’s production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. In 2014 Finnegan also made it into the top 100 of Channel Nine’s ‘The Voice Kids’.

In this classic tale of a family and a flying car, Chitty will take the form of a 1923 Model T Ford, so buckle up and be prepared to go on a fantasmagorical journey on the road and in the sky.

PLAY & GO REVIEW {Thursday 23 April 2015}

We were blown away last night by the amazing talent showcased by the cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. A triumph in live theatre, it is so inspiring to see young local performers excel in this lively and colourful production. The acting, singing, dancing, music, costumes and clever sets were all top notch. This is so professionally put together I must say the huge cast delivered bigger, better and more song and dance sequences (thanks to the talented choreography of Nina Richards) than the national production which toured here a couple of years ago, which lacked some of the spirit that was so evident in this performance.
Chitty Chitty has never been one of my most favourite musicals, but I am totally swayed by this brilliant production. There is so much to love – it is a must see for theatre lovers.
