Cleland Night Walks

Night Walks are back at Cleland Wildlife Park this summer!

See what wakes up when the sun goes down, and explore the world of Australia’s nocturnal animals. Join their experienced guides for a night time tour of Cleland. You’ll get up close to potoroos, bettongs and bandicoots as they forage for food. Hear the haunting cry of owls and the Bush Stone Curlew, and see what kangaroos and wallabies get up to when darkness falls. The tour also coincides with feeding times for the Tasmanian Devils – something most visitors never get to experience.

There are three unique Night Walks experiences to choose from, so join in the fun with Cleland’s wild residents!

Public Night Walks

Take the family along and join a Cleland Night Walk Friday. You’ll be provided with torches and lanterns to light your way and will learn all about the park’s nocturnal inhabitants and even see the night feed of the Tasmanian Devils. The walk finishes up in the Ocean to Outback Centre with light refreshments sourced from the Adelaide Hills region.

Walks start at dusk (exact time to be confirmed at time of booking) and go for 1 hour. Walks are suitable for all ages.

Bookings are essential. Terms and conditions apply.

Private Night Walks

You can book a Private Night Walk for a date and time to suit your group. Tours are offered year-round (winter is a particularly special time at Cleland – just remember to dress warmly!). In addition, each member of your tour will receive a voucher to visit Cleland during normal visiting hours.

During a Private Night Walk, your group will explore the park bearing lanterns and torches, and see the famously shy Tasmanian Devils get their night feed. Your guide will tailor the walk to suit the interests of your group, and you’ll finish up in the Ocean to Outback Centre where you’ll have the chance to get up close and personal with one of the reptile inhabitants. The walk takes about two hours, and coffee, tea and locally sourced refreshments will be served.

Tours start from $300.  To discuss your requirements please call 08 8339 2444.

Indulgence Night Walks

For a more intimate experience, join our exclusive Indulgence Night Walks. Ideally designed for two people (maximum 10 people), this private tour can be tailored to suit your interests.

You’ll start by watching the sun’s last rays set the trees ablaze with colour as you sip your South Australian wine or beer, and enjoy a platter of Adelaide Hills cheeses, dips and smallgoods. Then you’ll head off with your guide to explore the areas of the park you’re interested in, and to give the iconic Tasmanian Devils their night feed.

The walk finishes up at the Ocean to Outback Centre, where you will get up close and personal with one of our nocturnal animals (reptile or possum) and have your photo professionally taken holding the animal. Your photo will be sent to you via post or email. At the end of the tour you can relax with a hot beverage and locally made chocolates or cake.

Tour starts from $480.  To discuss your requirements please call 08 8339 2444.

* Night Walks may be cancelled during extreme weather conditions.
