Commonwealth Bank Women’s Ashes Series | Australia v England | Adelaide Oval | 10 & 13 Feb 2022

Commonwealth Bank Women’s Ashes Series Australia v England will see two games at Adelaide Oval in February 2022.

The Commonwealth Bank Women’s Ashes Series will be played in Canberra, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne.

The configuration of the multi-format women’s Ashes has been altered to start with a Test (in Canberra from January 27-30) followed by three T20Is (at North Sydney and Adelaide Oval) and three ODIs (Adelaide and Junction Oval).

The Australian women’s cricket team won the 2019 Ashes series in England, retaining the trophy.

1934 marked the year of the first women’s Test series between Australia and England, the first ever women’s Test series in history. It wasn’t until 1998 that the contest was officially named the women’s Ashes, a moment honoured by the burning of a signed bat, a copy of the Women’s Cricket Association constitution and the rules book, the ashes of which were sealed in a 300-year-old yew tree trophy. Originally, the women’s Ashes was won and lost over a series of Test matches. However, since 2013 the competition has been decided over a series of ODI, T20 and Test matches.
