Experience the celebration of the century when this Disney On Ice production skates into Adelaide.

Creating memories is synonymous with Disney On Ice, who recently surveyed Australian families about their own childhood memories. The survey of more than 8,000 people revealed the most treasured childhood memory for people was a ‘specific family activity’ (55%), followed by a ‘specific holiday overseas with the family’ (14%), a ‘specific family celebration’ (12%), a ‘major life event e.g. first day of school’ (6%) and ‘receiving a specific toy/game’ (5%).

Play & Go Tips & Notes:

We’ve been to many Disney on Ice shows over the years and we never tire of them. You can always expect quality entertainment that’s tailored for families with a whole lot of Disney magic thrown in. The shows are exciting, colourful and fun, with amazing costumes and sets, and always showcase some spectacular ice skating. We can’t wait to see the 100 Years of Disney Magic with all the songs we know and love.

❄️ The boys love it just as much as the girls. The show is fast-paced with plenty of action and dazzling tricks to keep all ages entertained. My 7 yr old son and 11 yr old daughter still loved it last year as much as they did when they were 4 years old.

❄️ The show is performed on a very large stage – the whole of the ground area of the Entertainment Centre. The ice skaters all move around the whole area so no matter where you are sitting you will be able to see the show. Prime viewing is at the end of the rectangle (section K) and close to the stage, as they do sometimes perform to the front of the stage there. However, the performers skate around all over the huge stage area so it’s not like an Ed Sheeran concert where you may barely see a speck in the far distance. Noise wise it’s as loud as a music concert. Be aware of this if your child is sensitive to loud noises. There may also be special effects and sometimes fire crackers depending on the show.

❄️ A few people have asked if it’s cold in there – actually it’s surprisingly not cold at all – we all took our jackets off. It is a bit cooler if you are sitting very close to the rink.

❄️ Yes Princesses, Princes and Disney characters are welcome – it’s the perfect chance for them to go dressed in their special Princess dress or other Disney costume. With Princesses “the cold doesn’t bother them anyway,” but they could wear a cardigan for outside, which they can easily take off.

❄️ Unlike at some shows, photos are allowed at Disney on Ice. You are welcome to snap some photos during the show (no flash), but make sure you don’t spend too much time doing this and miss the good bits.

❄️ Yes, you can take your own snacks and water bottles to the show. The Adelaide Entertainment Centre specifies no bottles are allowed so it’s up to their discretion, but they generally allow small water bottles which are plastic with screw top lids – but no metal or glass. I have always taken a small plastic water bottle for the kids and have had no issues. See their conditions here.

❄️ Security bag checks are still in place so allow time for this (can be 10-20 minutes). Do not take a large bag. The Adelaide Entertainment Centre has this info on their website: Bags and backpacks larger than A3 (approx. 40cm x 30cm) are strictly prohibited – There are no storage facilities on site and they will not cloak these items. Medical items / bags will be permitted subject to inspection. They do allow nappy bags however. To make things go quicker for everybody it’s really best to take the minimal amount of things.

❄️ Children under 2 yrs old do not need a ticket if sitting on your lap but bear in mind the show is 2 hrs long (with a 15 minutes intermission) so might be a long time for a little one to sit still, plus the music is quite loud for little ears.

❄️ Allow around 15-20 minutes for parking. There’s always a line-up for parking in the Entertainment Centre car park. Don’t forget there is also parking across the road in the DK Fabric park and the one off East Street. Sometimes the car parks are operated by charities and the money collected goes straight to them. Don’t forget to take cash for parking (usually around $10 to $15). There is also street parking for free if you’re lucky – just remember to read the signs in case of restrictions so you don’t get a parking fine.

❄️ As with most shows, there are many merchandise stands with a lot of Disney toys, shaved ice in adorable Disney cups, things that glow, balloons, popcorn and fairy floss. Be aware that these are completely dazzling to little eyes but can lighten your wallet somewhat.
