Easter 2019 Open Garden – Sophie’s Patch
The Easter tradition continues at Sophie’s Patch Open Garden.
Easter at Sophie’s Patch has become a tradition thousands of South Australians, and many interstate visitors have come to enjoy. 2019 will be no different and will have a few surprises. The initiative supports the Rotary Club of Mt Barker and Operation Flinders. Gates open from 10am to 4:30pm daily and after paying the entry fee, you can stay in the garden as long as you like.
Kids Activities:
The Open Garden always has a range of kids activities available and this year they will include Kate Hubmayer, author of Nature Crafts for Aussie Kids making Autumn mandalas, Bev Manthey making Easter baskets and bug education with Kristen Messenger from Bugs n Slugs.
Nurseries at the Open Garden:
As always, local nurseries will be sharing their knowledge and selling plants. In 2018 they had:
- Bickleigh Vale Organic Farm
- Hillside Herbs & Succulents
- Tupelo Grove Nursery
- Supporting organisations
Organisations at the Open Garden:
Organisations at the open garden may include:
- Beekeepers’ Society of SA
- Butterfly Conservation Society of SA
- Birds SA
Refreshments at the Open Garden:
There were be savoury refreshments available from the Mt Barker Waldorf School, coffee from Beans Talk coffee cart, a Hutt St initiative, and home baked cakes made from home grown produce.

Purchase on the day at the gates. Correct money appreciated.

- Children under 18 FREE
