Walk with the Fauna Rescue of SA Talking Batty Education Team as they explore the incredible world of bats.
Grey-headed Flying-foxes have only been in Adelaide since 2010 so there is much for the public to learn about this vitally important keystone species. The organisers are experienced Flying-fox carers, rescuers, rehabilitators and educators within Fauna Rescue of South Australia. Go along for an educational tour of the Adelaide Colony, in the heart of beautiful Botanic Park. Learn the facts and we can dispel the myths around these amazing but, very misunderstood animals.
After the tour, as the sun sets, event-goers will get the opportunity to watch the spectacular fly out as the Flying-foxes head out for their nighttime of foraging, planting seeds and pollinating – all in a night’s work for them.
Make sure to take along chairs, rugs and a picnic to truly enjoy the experience. Members of the Talking Batty Education Team will be available throughout the entire evening to answer all of your questions.
All proceeds from this event will go towards upgrading the hand reared Flying-fox rehabilitation aviary.
