Falie Family Fun Day & Light Show
The Historic Ketch Falie (HKF) is celebrating 100 years with a family fun day on Sunday 29 September 2019. In addition to their usual onboard open day experience, there will be a variety of additional activities on offer.
Illuminart will be illuminating the ship itself, with light and storytelling projection from the Port to Port project, as part of the weekend’s centenary celebrations. Illumination and projection will begin at sunset and end at approximately 9pm. They plan to feature stories and moving image art celebrating South Australia’s mosquito fleet and the Falie, including those recently featured during Illuminart’s travelling light projection tour which visited many Port towns which once were the working Ports visited by the Falie.
This illumination event celebrates the heritage of the Falie and Port Adelaide, and pays homage and thanks all the volunteers and community members who continue to support the Falie and maintaining South Australia’s mosquito fleet maritime legacy.
Activities on the day:
- Falie open 11am – 5pm (gold coin)
- Steam Tug Yelta open (gold coin)
- Lighthouse 10.30am – 4pm (free)
- Facepainting
- Deck games
- Blacksmith and rope work demonstrations
- Roving / Singing Scallywags
- Light Show by Illuminart 6.30pm – 9pm
