It’s always fun to have a family movie night, especially during Winter when it’s cold and rainy. We’re old school, we like to support our local video store and peruse the shelves for what to watch. My youngest likes to pick random kid’s movies sometimes – based purely on liking the picture on the front, since he can’t read the blurb on the back. We’re making the most of being able to go to a video store – who knows how much longer they will be around? It will be one of those things our kids will be saying when they’re older, “Back in the old days when we rented movies on DVD, off the shelf in a store…” and the future generation will look at them blankly with no idea what they’re talking about.
Anyway the kids think it’s great fun to go pick out movies….it’s just returning them back on time and paying the late fees that gets us. Every. Time. The kids once borrowed the same movie about 3 times and then if you add the late fees, we seriously could have bought 10 copies of it from K-Mart!!
So, dressed in pjs, armed with some freshly made popcorn (much cheaper when you make it at home than buying it in the cinemas), and maybe some other treats, like ice-cream or lollies, you’re all set for a great night in.
The recent season of movies in late 2014/early 2015 was great, which means those movies are all available to watch. Here are our favourites which we reviewed earlier in the year and are great picks for movie night now.
