You can find plenty of fun and exciting things to do for FREE at the Royal Adelaide Show that will keep the kids happy and entertained without spending any extra money. There are free action-packed shows, interactive displays, animals to see, fireworks and much more all included with your entry ticket.
There is so much on offer each year at the Royal Adelaide Show. We’ve picked out TWENTY ONE fabulous family friendly, fun and FREE things to do this year at the Show.
1/ Check out the Kids’ Mid-Week Entertainment program featuring Bluey and her little sister Bingo (12pm), Kangaroo Beach Live Interactive Experience (2pm), and Dirtgirlworld (4pm) appearing daily from Monday 2 September to Friday 6 September 2024 on the Goyder Stage.
2/ Visit the BankSA Farmyard Nursery and get up close to the adorable baby animals including lambs, goats, alpacas, and miniature horses.
3/ For more animal fun head to the Milking Barn and have a turn at milking a cow at 9.30am and 4.30pm in The Learning Centre.
4/ Cheer on the Airtime FMX team as they jump and flip their motorbikes in the Main Arena. Six sessions daily between 3pm and 6pm, plus nightly at 7.45pm and 8.45pm.
5/ Car Soccer! Just like Rocket League you will see two teams will battle it out to be the Royal Show Car Soccer Champion. Every night at 7pm and 8pm.
6/ Enjoy some family friendly comedy with Chicken Run! Jack Farmer has returned with his GIANT prized chickens and he wants to put them to the test to see which chicken is fittest to be entered into the Royal Show! Every night at 6.45pm and 7.45pm.
7/ Meet a superhero at the Gotham Collectables stand for a special photo opportunity. All days in the Market Bazaar.
8/ Presented by Gluttony, meet The Circus Firemen, a dynamic duo with a blazing blend of high-energy acrobatics, red-hot juggling, and searing Australian comedy. All days on the Boulevard Stage.
9/ The Buzz about Bees! Observe a fully enclosed live beehive in action, where bees continuously fly in and out to gather food from nearby flowers. Daily at 12:30pm & 2:30pm in the Learning Centre.
10/ The Funny Farmers follows the mishaps of 2 colourful farmers Pete and Matt as they try to get their farm in order with the help of the children at the Royal Adelaide Show and their loveable friend Jolly Joy – the big dancing cow! Goyder Stage at 2pm on Saturday 31 August and Sunday 1 September 2024.
11/ Take a seat around the woodchopping arena and watch men and women chop wood with incredible accuracy and speed. Every day at 9am.
12/ Stay for the nightly fireworks – 8pm Sunday-Thursday and 9pm Friday & Saturday.
13/ Watch Flyball! Flyball is a relay race between two teams of four dogs. Saturday 31 August 2025 at 9am on the Dairy Cattle Judging Lawn.
14/ Callum Hann Live Cooking Demo – Join Masterchef and Pick a Local, Pick SA! Ambassador Callum Hann at the Horticulture Stage for a live cooking demonstration. Monday 2 September 2024 at 1:35pm
15/ See just how fast a ride on mower can go, with a few…adjustments! Lawn Mower Racing is a growing sport worldwide. Fun, social, affordable and enjoyable for anyone who loves Motorsport. In the Main Arena 6-8 September 2024 at 9.30am, 2pm, & 6pm.
16/ The Big Wheel Show. Presented by Gluttony, the show with a big personality, Hannah has brought her friend Herman the massive German Wheel to the street. All days on the Boulevard Stage.
17/ Visit the Show Museum and take a step back in time to explore the lives of our early farmers, gardeners, cooks, creators, animal lovers and wine makers.
18/ Dirt Girl & Scrap Boy meet and greet at Goyder Plaza.
19/ HLS Trick Riders – The HLS Team will be joining the Show’s Nightshift program leaving audiences in awe with their horseback stunts. Nightly at 7.15pm and 8.15pm.
20/ A free activity presented by PIRSA and The Advertiser, children can become miniature farmers for a day at Aggie’s Farm.
Children are invited on a journey through stations including a faux chicken coop, apple and orange orchard, grain collection, and strawberry and potato patches. New this year, children can also catch a fish from the custom-built wooden boats, and ‘shear’ some wool from the wooden sheep. Then it’s onto the Farmer’s Market, where produce collected along the way can be traded for farm dollars. These farm dollars can then be exchanged for an Aggie’s Farm sticker.
21/ Take a photo on the Channel 9 News set and watch the bulletin presented live at 6pm.
