Hallett Cove Boardwalk – Opening of New Coastal Walkway Bridges | 3 Aug 2024

The new Hallett Cove Coastal Walkway Bridges will be officially opened in August.

The official opening of the new Coastal Walkway Bridges will be a day of celebration with breathtaking views as they officially cut the ribbon on these stunning additions to our beautiful coastline.

This 2 year and multi-million dollar project has been completed in a joint partnership between the City of Marion and the South Australian State Government.  In 2020 it was confirmed the boardwalk would be repaired, reopened and extended, with the new section of the trail sensitively designed and built from Heron Way Reserve to the Field River mouth.  The sections of boardwalk which span the Grey Road and Kurnabinna Terrace gullies have been completely rebuilt.

OFFICIAL OPENING EVENT

To officially open the new walkway bridges the Premier of South Australia, Hon Peter Malinauskas MP and City of Marion Mayor Kris Hanna will be cutting the ribbon at the Grey Gully Bridge at 9:30am on Saturday 3 August 2024.

The community event along the Coastal Walkway will follow, with access to the bridges, beginning at 10am from Grey Road to Fryer Street.

Go along with your family and friends for a stroll along the stunning new walkway. Enjoy free coffee from local coffee vans, a free barbecue, and fun activities for all ages.

Please note: the opening event is weather dependent and subject to change – they will be keeping an eye on the forecast in the leadup to the event, so please keep an eye on the City of Marion socials for any updates.
