Adelaide Chinatown Plaza | Sneak Peek of the Brand New Food Court

Sneak Peek at the new Food Court at Adelaide Chinatown Plaza.

It’s been a long time (nearly 2 years actually) but the Chinatown Plaza food court, off Moonta Street, is finally nearly ready.

It’s currently having a trial soft open at lunch times between around 11am to 3pm with some food stalls serving food. Closed since August 2016, the revamp has been long awaited. Here’s our first look at the renovated eatery.

Basically, it’s nothing like the old food court. The old laminate and fluorescent lighting has been replaced with a modern Asian style with beautiful lighting, lovely green foliage and ornate timber throughout.

There are currently four new shops open for you to try, with four more to come before the official opening late July 2018. Currently open are Yum Cha, Malaysian food at Kampung Boy, freshly made home-style dumplings at Dumpling Mama and Chinese at Mandarin Duck. There is a bar serving a variety of drinks as well.

As they are not quite ready yet, some of the shops have food menu and pricing handwritten on paper for now until their signage arrives.

There is an eclectic mix of dining tables and chairs with some areas filled with simple booths for a quick bite to eat, while another section has more stylish intimate booth seating. One section showcases gorgeous upmarket rattan chairs and glass top tables, or you may choose to eat in one of the timber gazebos.

We look forward to seeing it all completed next month and can’t wait to try out all the food.
