Amy’s Ride SA is South Australia’s most iconic mass participation bike ride.

Bike SA is closing the entire Southern Expressway on Sunday 1 November 2015  as thousands of people, young and old pedal their way to the finish line at McLaren Vale.  From the city to the sea to the vines – Amy’s Ride SA is the perfect challenge!  There is a distance for everyone.  Choose to ride 12km right up to 125 kilometres along a car-free Southern Expressway.

More than just a ride

Amy’s Ride SA is so much more than just a ride. This unique event puts the spotlight on South Australian bicycle riders, freeing up the entire Southern Expressway to allow riders of every age and experience level to set their own challenge and to celebrate both individual and shared achievements by taking part.

Amy’s Ride SA is a whole lot of fun; it also shows South Australia that people on bikes matter.

By registering for Amy’s Ride SA, not only do you get to enjoy the day and immerse yourself in SA’s vibrant cycling culture, you will also be helping both Bike SA and the Amy Gillett Foundation work towards a brighter and safer future for all bicycle riders.

A Ride for everyone

With ride options from 12km to 125km, Amy’s Ride SA truly is the ride for everyone.  Want to race yourself to the finish line?  No worries! Want to relax with family and enjoy motorist free roads? Why not! From experienced roadies to families and children, Amy’s Ride SA strives to bring out and show off the diversity of South Australian bicycle riders, highlighting the need for safe and cycle friendly communities.

Ride Options

This event has rides catering for all abilities for the more than 3,000 riders that take part every year. You can challenge yourself to a gruelling 125km, or take part in a leisurely 12km pedal.  It’s up to you!  To pre-register and view all the different ride options click here. The 12km option is a very family friendly route, out and back along the Shiraz Trail.

From 9:30am riders will start to arrive at McLaren Vale’s Serafino Winery where a day of entertainment will take place unitl 2.30pm.  Food and drinks will also be available.
