CBCA Book Week 2018 – Find Your Treasure
Each year across Australia, the Children’s Book Council of Australia brings children and books together celebrating CBCA Book Week. During this time schools, libraries, booksellers, authors, illustrators and children celebrate Australian children’s literature and you will often see children’s book character parades and talented librarians creating amazing displays.
Generally, the CBCA Book of the Year winner’s announcement is the third Friday in August, and CBCA Book Week commences the following day.
The 2018 CBCA Book Week theme is Find Your Treasure and the dates are Saturday 18th to Friday 24th August.

Costumes can be made up of items you have lying around at home, old dress ups and craft materials. Stores such as Kmart, Spotlight, $2 shops and even hardware stores can have items you can use with a little imagination. There are also fabulous ready-made costumes covering a huge range of themes available for all ages from local and online costume stores that will save you time if you’re not confident sewing and creating your own costume. If your child loves dressing up at home and role playing with friends, costumes can be a great investment for hours of endless play.
See our Book Week competition last year on Facebook for some ideas for costumes. Pics were in the comments.
We were absolutely blown away by this Transformers creation by Nadine for her son’s first Book Week parade.
