GLENELG STREET PARTY: WELCOME TO SUMMER AT THE BAY!
Glenelg Summer is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate than with a massive street party on Jetty Road…the night before the Glenelg Christmas Pageant! Go along and enjoy live music, summer fashion parades, cool pop-up bars, and sizzling-hot street food. Plenty of fun for the kids with roving entertainment.
There’ll be face painting for the kids with GU Filmhouse and Fairy Bay plus circus workshops for kids of all ages (including big kids) and roving performances all presented by Cirkidz.
Get your fashion fix with two runway shows near Chapel Street featuring this year’s summer trends by Jetty Road traders.
The Fashion Parades will feature MC Adelady’s Lauren Decesare with 25 Finesse models reflecting the City of Holdfast Bay’s diverse community, plus special appearances by Miss Fairy and her fairy helpers. Each show includes around 70 changes. The collection will feature fashion from Spendless Shoes, Attitudes Boutique, Blazae; Blue Illusions; Bronze Snake; Extreme Boardriders; Femme Connection; Lightbox Gift and Home; Paisley Boutique; Pari; Sportspower; Vertice and TS14+Virtu Glenelg.
The fashion parades, in front St Andrew’s Church (Chapel Street), kick off at 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
While you’re wondering down Jetty Road, enjoy some sweet tunes by Joe Man Murphy and the Gypsy Rumble, pick up some great street food and pop into a bar or two created by Jetty Road Traders.
If you like scenic sunsets then head down to the beach to watch the sunset over the bay whilst listening to cool reggae beats performed by Reggae On then stay on til night falls and the stars come out to bop along with Rachael Leahcar and her band live on the Moseley Square stage.
Participating pop-ups and/or licenced venues on the street for the night include: Beach Burrito; the Bracegirdle’s Bus; Good Life Modern Organic Pizza; Lone Star Rib House; Noodle Box; Salsa’s Fresh Mex; Tasca Viva; The Greens Café; The Moseley on Soul Street; the Stamford Grand Adelaide with their big Asador on Moseley Square.
