Glenthorne National Park Open Days | Ranger Guided Walks | 5 & 7 Apr 2019

Glenthorne National Park Open Days

A new national park is being created in Adelaide’s southern suburbs and you can help to shape its future.

The creation of Glenthorne National Park will see coordinated park planning and management across several important parcels of land. This will include Glenthorne Farm, O’Halloran Hill Recreation Park, Marino Conservation Park, Hallett Cove Conservation Park, Happy Valley Reservoir and areas of the Field River Valley. The total area is more than 1,500 hectares, which is bigger than Belair National Park.

There will be two exciting open days in April where you can access the site for the first time, take a guided tour, and share your ideas with National Parks South Australia.

Come early at 12.30pm and enjoy a Welcome to Country by Traditional Owners, the Kaurna People. Hear from The Minister for Environment and Water David Speirs MP.

After your guided tour, stay and enjoy snacks and refreshments available for purchase from vendors. Get to know the passionate rangers and members of the local community that are also helping to create this exciting new park.

Everyone who attends a ranger guided walk goes into the draw to win one of ten parks passes valued at $90.

This is an inclusive event. If you have accessibility needs, please note them on your booking to arrange assistance on the guided walks.

Sturdy walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, and refillable water bottles are recommended.

Event closes at 4.30pm.
