Marilyn Jetty Swim

This year, the bold and fabulous women behind the Marilyn Jetty Swim are hoping to break a world record at their sixth annual swim, which raises funds and awareness for Cancer Council SA.

Held as a part of the Channel 7 Brighton Jetty Classic, the Marilyn Jetty Swim sees over 100 women (and a couple of men!) dressed as Marilyn Monroe raise funds for Cancer Council SA by swimming around the iconic Brighton Jetty. Spearheaded by event founder Sarah Tinney, this year the Marilyn’s are not only hoping to raise $80,000 for Cancer Council SA, but are also aiming to set a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people dressed as the starlet in one location.

It’s an attempt which they hope will raise even more awareness of Cancer Council SA and the work that they do.

On World Cancer Day, Sunday 4 February 2018, hundreds of Marilyns swam in this iconic event, which has now raised nearly $300,000 since beginning in 2014. What started as an idea between friends has quickly gained national and international attention, and a loyal following in Brighton, SA.

The Marilyn Jetty Swim will be held on Sunday, 3 February as a part of the Channel 7 Brighton Jetty Classic.
