Moana Raises the Sails to Help Support Children’s Hospitals

The new animated adventure from Walt Disney Animation Studios’, Moana, will make its big-screen debut on Sunday 4 December 2016 at 55 selected Event, Greater Union, BCC and GU Film House Cinema locations nationwide in an exclusive advance screening to help raise money for children’s hospitals around Australia.

Thanks to a partnership between entertainment giant, Event Hospitality and Entertainment, and film distributor, Walt Disney Company, the proceeds from every ticket sold are being donated directly to children’s hospitals to help give sick and injured kids access to the best possible research, medical technology and paediatric care.

This partnership means not only will cinema-goers be one of the first people to see Moana on Australian screens; each ticket holder will be directly contributing to the health and well-being of some of Australia’s sickest children.

“You can’t put a price on good health, and it is everyone’s responsibility to support the well-being of our youngest and most vulnerable members of society. We are very proud to continue our partnership with children’s hospitals in supporting the amazing work they do every day”

…said David Seargeant, Event Hospitality and Entertainment Managing Director.

This year will mark the sixth annual charity screening for children’s hospitals in partnership with Event Hospitality and Entertainment. These special charity screenings have raised $440,000 funds to date and contributed to helping over 1 million sick children around Australia.

This new Disney animated musical film, Moana, takes the audience on an adventure through the mystic islands in Polynesia with a spirited teenager who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfil her ancestors’ unfinished quest.

During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds.

Tickets to the charity screening of Moana

Tickets for this exclusive advance charity screening of MOANA will cost $12 each and can be purchased online at the Event Cinema website here or at cinema box offices.

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ MOANA sails into theatres nationwide on 26 December 2016.
