Parents in Education Week: packed to the brim with free parent information sessions, practical tips and easy ways to support your child’s learning at every age and stage

A parent’s attitude, values and behaviours are the most important influence on a child’s early learning and development. Book your place at a free Parents in Education Week evening information session and gain useful tips to support your child’s learning and development at every different age and stage.

The 2016 Parents in Education Week is a collaborative cross sector education approach providing parents access to a series of free information evening sessions delivered by renowned child development experts across metro and rural South Australia.

There are several ways to access an information session:

  • attend a live event
  • view a live webcast; or
  • host your own event.

Parents in Education Week - free parent information sessions - speakers

Free parent information session for parents of young children (0-5 year olds)

Find out how you can make a difference to your child’s learning and development from  the earliest age.

A session is being run on Monday 12 September, 7- 9pm called ‘Helping you to get involved in your child’s learning in the early years’ by Dr Margy Whalley, internationally renowned author and founder of the Pen Green Centre for Under 5s integrated early years education and care service in the United Kingdom.

Free parent information session for parents of teenagers

Find out about teen brain development and what makes them successful learners at school and at home.

Understanding the mysterious world of teens at home and at school’ presented by clinical psychologist Kirrilie Smout is being run on Tuesday 13 September, 7-9pm | Murray Bridge or view online | Book your free place.

 

Free parent information session for all ages and stages

Join Minister Susan Close and renowned child development experts on Wednesday 14 September, 6.30 – 8pm on the topic of ‘A vision for children and childhood: where education fits in to the role of schools, parents and the community?’  Semaphore Park or view online | Book your free place.

 

Free parent information session for parents of primary school aged children (5 -12 years olds)

Childhood development expert Andrew Fuller will present tips for unlocking your child’s genius by helping your child develop a mindset for success.
