Queen’s Baton Relay & Community Celebration

The Queen’s Baton Relay takes a message from Her Majesty The Queen through the Commonwealth to the Opening Ceremony of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Arriving in Adelaide’s Victoria Square/ Tarntanyangga at 4.45pm on Sunday 18 February, the baton will begin its journey through the city at 5pm; weaving through Rundle Mall and along North Terrace before reaching Montefiore Hill. It will then end at Elder Park before community celebrations commence at the Southern Plaza of Adelaide Oval where it will arrive at 6.30pm.

Celebrate the Queens Baton relay with family fun including:

  • Live music from Australian Rock Collective (members of Powderfinger, Spiderbait, JET and You Am I) and local rock band Runaway Weekend
  • GOLDOC mascot Borobi the blue koala
  • Free face painting and jumping castles
  • Photobooth
  • Have a go table tennis (by Table Tennis SA)
  • Adelaide Aquatic Center interactive display
  • Fiona Pavlova giant bubble shows
  • See highlights from the Queen’s Baton Relay so far
  • Food trucks
  • Giveaways and more!
