Read Aloud Open Day

Children’s Week is celebrated annually in October and this year United Way has partnered with Parafield Airport to undertake an event that is based around the theme of ‘A Caring World Shares’.

This event is designed to encourage Read Aloud activities by inspiring, involving, and showcasing the fun that can be enjoyed in such spaces and will be based around the stories: “Touch the Earth” by Julian Lennon, “Harrison’s Song” by Harrison Craig and “My Super Hero” by Chris Owen. The event essentially enables families to explore the aviation and services exhibits, participate in the Read Aloud sessions, and enjoy craft activities, animal displays, show rides, food components and giveaways.

There will be rides, live entertainment, crafts for kids, market stalls, food stalls, plane and vehicle displays, giveaways, and special guests including Harrison Craig from the Voice. There will also be free parking available. Children’s activities include craft activities, a bouncy castle, live reading of books and face painting.

Charity:

Proceeds from the day got to United Way to support future events for local disadvantaged families.
