Ruby Chocolate | Where to Buy | Adelaide | Oct 2018

Ruby Chocolate – where to buy and try in Adelaide.

If you are a chocolate lover, you would already have heard about Ruby chocolate, the first new type of chocolate to be discovered in 80 years.

Ruby Chocolate is derived from the Ruby Cocoa Bean and was developed by the Belgian chocolate company, Callebaut. Even though it is pink, it has no colourants or fruit flavourings.

Initially, Nestle won the opportunity to launch Ruby Chocolate in Australia in May with it’s Ruby Chocolate Kit Kat. It is still possible to buy it instore from Melbourne’s Kit Kat Chocolatory. However, if  you are not planning a trip to Melbourne in the near future, there is somewhere to buy it and enjoy it in Adelaide – Red Cacao.

Red Cacao is the only South Australian owned business with rights to sell Ruby Chocolate in South Australia, after being selected by Callebaut. They are located in Stirling and currently stock a fantastic range of Ruby Chocolate treats.

If you’re a purist, you may like to take a Ruby Chocolate block home with you or a Ruby Chocolate spoon to dip into your hot chocolate.  If you’re feeling more adventurous, there are flavoured blocks of Ruby chocolate as well as Ruby Rockyroad.

If you’re in the Stirling store, you can enjoy Ruby Chocolate as part of a decadent dessert or treat – Ruby Gateaux and Ruby & Raspberry Macarons. Any of their desserts can always be packaged up and taken home if you’re in a rush.

Ruby Chocolate is also available from the Red Cacao Mount Barker Chocolate Kitchen.

Red Cacao locations:

Red Cacao | Shop 3, 41 Mount Barker Road, Stirling (chocolate and cakes)

Mount Barker Chocolate Kitchen | 21 Victoria Crescent, Mount Barker (chocolate sales only)

So, what does Ruby Chocolate taste like?

It tastes like a mix of white chocolate and strawberry and is quite fruity, sweet, but also acidic. The verdict – very, very nice!
