Six Swans the Opera | Magill | 9-13 June 2015

six-swans-june2015

The Australian premiere of Six Swans the opera is a collaboration between renowned South Australian disability arts organisation Tutti Arts and the next generation of theatre makers, students from the University of South Australia’s Performing and Media Arts course.

Based on the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale, this enchanting story is brought to life through the soaring composition of Dr Richard Chew and directed by Dr Russell Fewster.

It’s a fantastic story and it starts with an irate father who happens to be a King turning his six sons into swans over a broken jug, reminding us that life is full of fateful and often unexpected consequences of choice. Six Swans touches upon themes of redemption and forgiveness as a young woman struggles towards an awakening and into her own strengths.
