Something on Saturday 2018 | Adelaide Festival Centre | Apr to Aug 2018

Something On Saturday | 10 April until 25 August 2018

One of our favourite programs, Something on Saturday, is back for another fun-filled year with the best entertainment for children aged 1 – 12 years.  The Adelaide Festival Centre’s Something on Saturday program continues to delight and entertain thousands of people every year, providing an opportunity to beat the winter blues with many South Australian children enjoying their first theatrical experience through the program.

The 2018 program has something that appeals to all tastes and covers everything from physical theatre, slapstick humour, live music, storytelling, ballet, circus, classic children’s literature brought to life on stage, acrobatics, galas, science and comedy. Kids are encouraged to sing, dance and have good old-fashioned fun as Something on Saturday presents artists from all over Australia.

Every Saturday at the Adelaide Festival Centre children and their families can enjoy fabulous live performances from just $12. Plus, every week there’s a FREE Foundation Kids Corner Workshop where kids create wonderful arts and crafts inspired by the show they attend.

Kids Corner Workshops

Every week the Adelaide Festival Centre hosts FREE workshops themed around that week’s performance. The Kids Corner Workshops are funded by the Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation. The Foundation raises funds for projects that inspire young people through the arts and for this reason workshops are free.

Tickets are now on sale!  Tickets are from $12 per person. See individual shows for pricing.

This year’s program will kick off Grug and the Rainbow. Featuring exquisite puppetry, plenty of surprises and more of the gentle storytelling that has delighted audiences around the world.

Further highlights include an exciting Circus performance, In the Shadows by the South Australian Circus Centre’s highly popular troupe of young circus performers from Cirkidz.

There will also be another madcap onstage adventure with the   ever-popular Andy & Terry’s 78-Storey Treehouse.

Peppa Pig fans can enjoy fun, loads of songs and surprises in the charming, colourful, new show  featuring life-size puppets in a brand new live stage show, Peppa Pig’s Surprise
