South Australian Maritime Museum Father’s Day Special
Celebrate Father’s Day with a trip to the South Australian Maritime Museum. Fathers and carers accompanied by a paying visitor this Father’s Day on Sunday 2 September 2018 will be admitted to the Museum free of charge.
Explore the life sized ketch and imagine the days of sail. Then marvel at sailors’ souvenirs and maritime crafts from Australia’s oldest nautical collection started at the Port in 1872. Also, be sure to visit the stunning exhibition Leviathan: An Astonishing History of Whales.
Take a stroll around the streets of Port Adelaide and imagine a nineteenth-century port with its grand customs house, telegraph office, shipping offices, chandlery and the Maritime Museum’s bond stores, lighthouse and steam tug Yelta. Let the kids run around at the fabulous Hart’s Mill playground.
